AUCKLAND KNIGHTS
With a legacy of alternative artistry in my family, I have been engrossed in the arts all my life.
Both of my parents, professional buskers and performers across a variety of disciplines, brought me up with a holistic approach to creativity, making me passionate about working in a variety of mediums. I experiment with everything from visual arts, poetry and photography to music, acting and more.
I have a unique ethos and approach to the arts, inspired by exposure to street performance from such a young age.
I believe that creativity must be shared and I relish any opportunity to take my work to my audiences directly, and engage with others in the arts through both performing and collaborating on projects.
It’s this ethos that also drives my interest in teaching, in particular running classes for young people, people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with learning difficulties. Over the years I have taught drama, visual arts and music in both freeform workshop formats and as part of a graded Arts Award Programme both independently and with other organisations such as the Fine Art Club.
Over the last few years I have created a number of my own pieces and works and helped in a number of other projects, taught classes, run workshops and performed live extensively.
ACTING
Trained in Acting at BOA Creative Performing Arts Academy, I have been passionate about theatre from a young age.
Achieving a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in acting, during my time there I performed in a variety of productions both as part of my course and in extra curricular activities. Most notably I starred in a 2 day run as Jackie in Lovely Bones at the Old Vic Theatre, Birmingham and created and performed a series of micro-performances at the Think Tank museum as part of their living exhibition series.
Outside of BOA I have been involved in a number of plays and productions, including a 4 day run of a modern day interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, several Pantomimes with OTFM Pantomimes and several productions with Stratford Musical Theatre Company and Phoenix Players.
MUSIC
In addition to my acting work, I also have a deep passion for music. I have performed, recorded and written extensively both solo and with my alt-folk acoustic duo AfterKnights.
Playing at a variety of festivals, venues and events both locally and further afield, we gigged and busked extensively, most notably supporting artist Maddie Morris on the North West length of her UK tour.
During my time with AfterKnights I have written, recorded and released 2 EPs and 2 singles, available now on all platforms. Stream our latest EP Interim below.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Currently I’m dabbling with an eclectic mix of mediums and a variety of practices from poetry to textiles to abstract photography.
I’m currently working on a collection of poetry with an assortment of influences and forms which you can read a taster of below, along with co-writing a short film.

I’m also working on a photography collection of abstract self portraits inspired by the work of similar artists utilising the experience I gained managing the social media marketing for arts and community camp, Sacred Arts. Browse some of my most recent shots below.
In addition to all of this I have set up a personal brand called Awks Arts.
Originally just created as a portfolio to showcase some of my more eclectic work including my sketch and junk journals, homemade clothing and textile works, I have since grown it into an online brand and retail platform. I sell my wares online and attend markets with upcycled used clothes, original crochet creations, clothes and cloth made from reclaimed material, my scrap and art journals and more.
With an emphasis on eco friendly and sustainable creation I love giving preloved and recycled materials a new lease on life. Check out some of my most recent creations on my Instagram below!
